Tasting- "Montes Alpha Syrah 2009"

Montes Alpha Syrah 2009

  • Variety: Syrah (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (7%), Viognier (3%)
  • Region: Apalta
  • Country: Chile
  • Year: 2009
  • Price: $7.95
  • Shop review:
    • "Blackberry and cola aromas are cool and collected. The palate has weight and texture to accompany berry, mint, herb and peppery flavors. Turns more herbal as it unwinds. Pepper and spice lead the finish."
  • My review:
    • I got a heavy woodsy or oak-y flavor from this wine. It was definitely spicy and peppery, more so than the Coreto Tinto. To me, the pepper flavor was a little off-putting because it was so strong.
